How I Prioritize life while Homeschooling

People ask me all the time. How do you manage to get everything done and Homeschool? Well, sometimes I don't. Sometimes, formal school work is really ignored around here. On the days that I do manage it all, it feels pretty amazing. If you haven't read any of my past homeschool posts, we are unschoolers. We love to learn in natural ways. Sometimes that involves workbook and notebooks and other times it involves cooking and drawing fantastic drawings for Mommy.

How I manage on those successful days: I get up and get to it! Motivating myself is the kicker. Throw my hair up and get it done with swiftness and care. There is no secret. It is no mystery at all. All four kids know what is expected of them. First we take care of business and the fun and relaxing times come after.

Before anyone can play Minecraft, play with toys or whatever else they want to do, first things first.....

Is your bed made?

Brush your hair...

Did you have breakfast? Oops I better get on that Lol

Did you help with a Chore?

Did you read a book and finish your school work? (Every day is different)

Some days work out so smoothly and I wish everyday were like that. When it is a beautiful day out, everything gets ignored. All of it. But that is okay because I want to make the most of these days. Days when they are young and happy just being in the moment. They grow up too fast. Let them be kids. Learning happens all of the time, whether we want it to or not.

This is the best I can do right now. Life is always changing and I know one day it will be easier to manage it all. As long as I teach them to work as a family (a team), we will be fine.

That was my quick post of the week! :) Please drop me a comment and let me know your thoughts.
