My photo
My name is Jessica but you can call me Jess if you'd like. I am 32 years old, younger at heart, artistic, crafty and I am a down to earth woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. I am also a Mother of 5 beautiful children, from 9 months up to 12 years old. I love being a Mom. I am married to the love of my life; almost 13 years now. It has been a long hard road with many wonderful memories in between. The last 13 years has truly been full of learning for me. As hard as life has been, I wouldn't trade any of it because I would miss out on all the beautiful moments I got to experience with my family.

Natures Sunshine with Marisabel Rodriguez

I am so excited to tell you all about this company and their products! If you don't know already, I try to purchase the best health products for my family. As a Mother of four and one on the way, Nature's Sunshine protein powders have been a huge blessing. I need all the help I can get as far as getting in extra vitamins, minerals, protein and more.

I was sent an awesome package of products to try by Marisabel. I received the Smart Meal nutritional shake mix in chocolate & vanilla, as well as Nature's Harvest green whole food and super food instant beverage mix. Last but not least, I was also given Love and Peas, which is a blend of pea protein and nourishing whole foods.

My favorite is the chocolate shake mix of course :)

It is formulated to be taken as a healthy substitute for one or two daily meals or as a snack to help curb your appetite. I personally used it for snacks in between meals. It has also helped me cut cravings. I am extremely happy about that because some of the cravings I have had lately have been pretty unhealthy. Luckily, I have had this nutritional shake mix to keep me on track.

A bit more about the chocolate Smart Meal:

"The soy protein in this formula is non-GMO, and provides all of the essential amino acids that your body needs, which make it a great compliment to a vegetarian diet. Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 25 grams of soy protein per day may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of SmartMeal contains 14 grams of soy protein."

"This product also contains one gram of organic cold pressed flax seed per serving, which offfers 200mg of omega 3 essential fatty acids. The flax in this formula may also contribute to a feeling of fullness."

We are a smoothie family. I love adding this mix to my kids smoothies. They love it too! They beg for smoothies even more and it has helped a lot for snack times. I also feel good about the health benefits it gives them. We all know that most people do not get enough daily vitamins and minerals from food.

How do you drink it?

There are a few ways you can use the SmartMeal mix. When I first tried it I used organic milk and peanut butter. I put about 8 oz of milk in the blender bottle that was also sent to me (love it!). I added a teaspoon or so of peanut butter and two scoops of chocolate mix. It was like a peanut butter cup!

The next time, I used unsweetened almond milk and it tasted much better to me, as I am not a milk fan. Another very tasteful way I used was, like I mentioned before, in my smoothies. A scoop of mixed frozen fruit, two scoops of mix, almond milk and peanut butter. Very filling and healthy!

Nature's Harvest

This Green Whole-Food and Super-Food mix includes vegetable protein, antioxidant blend, essential fatty acids, herbs, enzymes and fiber. It is also Vegan, dairy free, gluten free, lactose free and free from allergens.

"Nature's Sunshine's Nature's Harvest instant beverage mix contains some of Earth's most nutrient-dense and healthful plants, fruits and herb's. This unique combination offers vegetable proteins, whole foods, greens, antioxidants, fatty acids, fibers and other beneficial ingredients that offer a wide array of health benefits."

"The matcha used in this product is ceremonial grade, and is grown and harvested in Japan using the strictest  traditional methods. The EGCG of matcha is approximately 10 times that of regular green tea, and offers high amounts of catechins, which act as powerful antioxidants."

Nature's Harvest green whole foods had a great taste. I added it to smoothies of course :) A great way to get in your greens and antioxidants for a strong healthy immune system. With the Fall and winter season coming I highly recommend this!

Last but not least: Love & Peas, a special blend of pea protein and whole-foods. I was given the vanilla flavor. It has 20 grams of protein per serving and is free from common allergens, dairy, lactose and gluten. I also used this in my smoothies. I think this is the only way I could handle the flavor. It is not a terrible taste, just very different. I would have preferred a chocolate flavor.

More about Love & Peas:

"Love & Peas provides 20 grams of vegetable protein, 1 gram prebiotic fiber and 3 grams total fiber per serving in a blend of naturally occurring amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, plus beneficial fats from flax seed and borage oil."

So to conclude my review....

Overall, I love Nature's Sunshine products! I enjoyed the chocolate flavor and how it made me feel. Curbed my appetite, cravings and helped my digestion as well as my children. I would recommend it to just about anyone. Especially those who need a gluten and dairy free alternative.

**This post contains affiliate links. This is no cost to you. Thank you.**

Good Monday everyone! Can you believe I am writing another blog post so soon? Haha yes! After weeks of feeling in no mood to write or anything for that matter, here I am sharing another great review with you. It is true that so far I have not had one bad product experience that I have wrote for you. I would think that is an amazingly great thing. I just want you to know that each review and post I make is my complete and honest opinion.
Today I want to tell you about my experience with Young Livings Thieves Laundry Soap. First of all, I love essential oils, making my own laundry soap and anything that is safest to use for my family. You probably know that by now but in case you do not I wanted to make that clear in my review. When I make my own laundry soap I do add lavender EO for the nice fresh scent.

First, I noticed that I did not have to use much soap for a medium sized load of clothes. It is a small cap as i…

DIY Paint for Kids

**This post contains affiliate links. This is at no cost to you. Thank you.**

I stumbled upon a really cool homemade paint recipe.....
You see, my kids love to paint so much that it was starting to get expensive. Acrylics, watercolors, the list goes on. Young kids don't usually care about they type of paint. They just want to have fun and be creative!
So like I said I stumbled upon this great, simple and cheap paint recipe. With ingredients you most likely have in your kitchen. Can't get any better than that ;)

Check below for this simple recipe....
Here is what you need:
1 Cup Salt 1 Cup Flour 1 Cup Water Food coloring Jars are squeeze bottles.
That is it! You mix those well together and you have paint! I made four batches so the kids could have four colors! Fun to make and fun for the kids to use :)

Preparing to mix...

Once you have all the colors prepared just pour into jars or squeeze bottles. Really, you can use just about anything to store it in.

Natural Health: Oxylent Supplements

I am always trying to find the best vitamins for my kids. It is important to me to give them something that will help their growing bodies and immune system. Most vitamins sold at stores like Wal-Mart are full of synthetic ingredients. One has to really pay attention to the ingredients list, even if it does say Natural. I have an eight month old, and although he doesn't need vitamins because I breastfeed, I need them very much!

Breastfeeding takes a lot from a Mother. She needs all the nutrients and vitamins that she can get. If she doesn't then it all goes to baby, leaving her with nothing. Let's face it, Mom needs to take care of herself too! I have recently discovered a natural vitamin supplement for the whole family. This is not your everyday vitamin. It is a vitamin powder that you add to your water. Shake and drink!
A company called Vitalah and founder Lisa Lent created an amazing health and nutritional supplement. I was sent to review a few from their Oxylent line. I…

Four Dirty Boys Soap

**This post contains affiliate links. This is at no cost to you. Thank you.**

Good October everyone! It has been awhile since I have sat here to write to you all about something or another. Have you all been enjoying the cooler weather? If you are from the South like me I bet you are. I know many that love the summer but Fall is my happy time. My kids agree with me on this one ;)

Today, I am introducing you to another amazing business and its owner. Teresa makes natural handmade soap. She has a big family of boys to keep clean! What better way to do that than by doing it the healthy and non-toxic way? From what I have learned so far by my own research, it isn't simple work....but highly rewarding. Keeping her family healthy, happy and clean :) All while running a family owned business. I am truly in awe of her and what she has accomplished.

I have ordered her soap and tried many great scents. My absolute favorites are Sweet Orange Chili Pepper and Spearmint. Each soap has an amazing …
