NEW Play dough Recipe

**This post contains affiliate links. This is at no cost to you. Thank you.**

Good afternoon lovelies,

Last week we did a couple simple crafts. I am always looking for a better homemade play dough recipe. After I bought some from our local dollar store I was inspired to try again. The store bought is toxic and awful messy. I purchased it for a quick thing to keep my son busy. Big mistake!

So here is a great recipe I found online.

1 Cup Flour

1 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Salt
1 Tablespoon Veg. oil
2 teaspoon Cream of tartar
Food coloring-for bright colors grab the neon box!

Step ONE:

Pour all of the ingredients into a saucepan. Does not matter which ones you put first. (I add in my food coloring in this step because it is much easier but you will only be using one color)

Step TWO:

Stir until mixed well

Step THREE:

Once it is mostly clump free, heat on medium.

Step FOUR:

Stir continuously and it will start to clump up.

Step FIVE:

Stir until one big clump is formed and then remove from heat.

Step SIX:

Cool for a couple minutes and knead.

If you did not add food coloring yet, form the dough into as many balls as colors you would like to use. Push your finger in the center to make a crater type hole and then add a few drops of color in each one. (You may want to use gloves) Now all you have to do is knead it until you get the desired color!
